Position Overview
Rudyard Area Schools is seeking a highly motivated, student-centered professional to serve as the School Wellness Center Community Health Worker.
This grant-funded position plays a vital role in advancing student health and wellness initiatives throughout the district by supporting coordinated care efforts, strengthening community partnerships, and assisting the school nurse and clinical therapist in meeting the diverse needs of students and families. This position is funded through Michigan's Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP), designed to support innovative, community-driven strategies to improve health outcomes across rural communities.
Primary Responsibilities
Develop and maintain collaborative partnerships with community organizations, agencies, and providers to expand student health and wellness resources.
Coordinate and support implementation of the district's School Wellness Grant initiatives.
Manage and coordinate the daily schedules of the school nurse and clinical therapist.
Assist the school nurse and clinical therapist with coordination of services, student support initiatives, and wellness programming.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date grant documentation while ensuring compliance with school policies, grant requirements, and applicable state regulations.
Actively participate as a member of the school safety team.
Assist with the review and revision of health, wellness, and safety-related policies as needed.
Promote the benefits and services of the School Wellness Center through active community engagement and outreach.
Help identify and support practical, student-centered solutions that address student needs and barriers to success.
Organize, coordinate, and promote school and community wellness activities and outreach programs.
Support a positive, inclusive, and student-focused environment that prioritizes student well-being and academic success.
Obtain and maintain Community Health Worker certification as required by the position.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Willingness to complete Community Health Worker certification requirements.
Position Details
Status: Grant-funded position
Work Year: 185 contracted workdays per year
Compensation: Starting wage of $20.00 per hour for 7.5 hours per day

Reporting: Reports directly to the school nurse and clinical therapist
