Position Summary:

Rudyard Area Schools is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Full-time Foreign Language Teacher to join our instructional team. The ideal candidate will inspire students to develop proficiency in a world language while fostering an appreciation for diverse cultures. This position may include instruction at the middle and/or high school level, depending on district needs.

Qualifications:

• Valid Michigan teaching certificate (or ability to obtain prior to starting date)

• Endorsement in the appropriate foreign language (e.g., FF – Spanish, FA – French, or other applicable endorsement) as required by the Michigan Department of Education

• Compliance with all Michigan Department of Education certification requirements

• Demonstrated knowledge of second language acquisition strategies and best instructional practices

• Strong classroom management and communication skills

• Ability to integrate technology into instruction

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience teaching at the secondary level

• Experience with standards-based grading and proficiency-based instruction

• Ability to advise student organizations or extracurricular activities

Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lessons in the target language

• Promote speaking, listening, reading, and writing proficiency

• Incorporate cultural components into instruction

• Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly

• Collaborate with colleagues to support student success

• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff

Compensation:

Compensation and benefits are pursuant to the Rudyard Federation of Teachers Contract.
