INTERNAL/EXTERNAL POSTING

Position:  Summer Painter/Custodian

Salary:  $18.00/hr. through EDUStaff - 40 hr. per week, 8 hr/day (Working June to the end of August)

Painting

Responsible for painting and maintaining various surfaces, both interior and exterior, using various tools and techniques. Also includes preparing surfaces for painting by cleaning, scraping, sanding, and sealing, and performing routine maintenance on equipment and materials. Unique tasks include filling cracks and holes with putty, using caulking compounds, and applying stencils

Maintenance/Custodial

Duties

·   Maintain surfaces as appropriate including in classrooms, offices, shared spaces, restrooms, halls and work carts.

·   Maintain hard flooring, to include sweeping, dusting, damp/wet mopping, stripping, waxing and buffing as scheduled.

·   Maintain carpets, to include vacuuming, shampooing, and extracting.

·   Discard waste/trash into proper containers and prepare trash receptacles for additional use.

·   Assure that work/assignment areas are maintained, and that equipment is properly stored at all times.

·   Move and set up tables, chairs, other furniture as directed.

·   Responsible for reading and following labels and SDS sheets on all cleaning supplies before using.

·   Report any issues or damage to supervisor.

·   Assure that adequate supplies to perform daily tasks are maintained in utility closets and keep supervisor informed of supply needs.

·   Set up and tear down for all sporting and extracurricular events.

·   Other duties as assigned.

Qualification requirements:

·   High school diploma or equivalent required.

·   Fingerprinting and criminal background check required.

·   Requires flexibility and dependability, and ability and willingness to work.

·   Ability and willingness to work assigned schedule, including occasional weekends or evening hours as needed.

·   Ability to read, write and understand written labels and directions.

·   Ability and willingness to follow work directions and safety rules, including use of personal protective equipment.

·   Must be able to work independently and cooperatively as part of a team; be able to consistently follow training; be able to maintain a neat appearance.

·   Must be physically able to regularly perform very active work for daily eight-hour shifts; to walk, stand, bend, stoop and climb; to grasp, lift, carry and push/pull equipment, tools and supplies; and to perform the duties listed above, primarily in indoor environment, but also outdoors in inclement weather.
